The Department of Sanitation already spends over $2 billion a year on this city and shows up every day. Our streets aren't dirty because of the budget. They're dirty because somewhere along the way we stopped treating New York like it belongs to us. This isn't a money problem. It's a caring problem. And no budget fixes that. We do.
LetsCleanNYC is a citizen-powered movement and platform that makes a clean block a status symbol. We deploy supplemental sanitation crews where the city falls short, funded transparently by neighbors and businesses on a block-by-block basis.
Our platform segments neighborhoods into manageable zones, each operating as an independent, self-sustaining project funded collectively by those who care most about the area. Neighbors and businesses contribute toward a monthly funding target calibrated to the area's size, traffic, and needs. Once the target is met, we activate high-frequency cleaning tailored to that zone.
Contributions are tracked in real time, refundable if the goal isn't reached, and allocated exclusively to cleaning that specific zone.
